The Wave Cave
The idea was to build a place that was healthy for the body and mind where kids of all ages could and would catch a few waves.
I came up with the idea of building an indoor Surf pool (not exactly a revelation) when I was in Todos Santos learning to Surf, more like learning how not to bite it every time I tried to stand up. The fact is that I am not much of a public pool guy but I love being on the beach and in the Surf. There had to be a way to bring that feeling back to Vancouver in our rainy wet winters.
The Wave Cave was born and I have been obsessing over it ever since. In 2005 I revisited the idea and talked with the boys over at Wave Loch and ADG. They had made great progress on the Nylon/Foam covered Flowrider standing waves. The technology is here, it would seem that the riders are here as well, now was the time to drop in.
The preliminary market research, revenue/expense proformas and funding initiatives are all on track. I am now working on the facility design, location short-listing and strategic initiatives.
